Latest Darts Power Rankings

Following the 2025 European Championship where Gian van Veen triumphed to win his first PDC major, the Dutchman has climbed in the latest darts power rankings.

As well as climbing the latest darts power rankings, van Veen has also climbed the PDC world rankings too. ‘The Giant’ has reached a career highest #7 in the PDC Order of Merit following his success in Dortmund.

The difference between the darts power rankings and the PDC Order of Merit is that the official rankings are based on prize money earned over a two-year period from PDC ranking events.

On the flip side, the darts power rankings are purely players who are in-form. The Faria Darting Index (FDI) is the go-to darts power rankings system, based on individual match performances, averages, scoring, doubles and everything combined.

Luke Littler’s stats indicated that ‘The Nuke’ would win the 2025 European Championship, but this wasn’t to be as he was defeated by veteran James Wade. However, Littler still leads the current darts power rankings.

The second most in-form player on the oche according to the FDI Darts Orakel Power Rankings is Gerwyn Price.

The Welshman actually dropped to 13th in the PDC Order of Merit following the European Championships after being beaten by Daryl Gurney in Round 1, but remains second only behind Littler in the latest darts power rankings.

Then comes the latest PDC major champion Gian van Veen. The Dutchman has climbed the darts power rankings following his victory in Dortmund and is officially now the third best player in the world according to the FDI darts power rankings.

Gian van Veen Climbs To Third In Darts Power Rankings Following European Championship Victory

After winning his first PDC major at the 2025 European Championship in Dortmund, Germany, Gian van Veen has climbed into the top 3 of the latest darts power rankings.

These rankings are based off the reliable FDI Darts Orakel Power Rankings, which is the leading statistical database when it comes to professional darts.

There was some movement in the darts power rankings following the European Championship, both positively and negatively.

Van Veen’s move into the top 3 is a positive one, and comes as no surprise given his strong form, consistent averages and reliable finishing on the outer ring.

The Dutchman’s FDI rating has reached 1,874, which is only 13 behind Gerwyn Price (1,887) and 56 behind Luke Littler (1,930).

It seems that ‘The Giant’ is hitting form just at the right time. The Dutchman is one of the standout names in the Grand Slam of Darts field, and could well go on to win back-to-back majors if successful in Wolverhampton.

The Grand Slam is the last PDC major before the Players Championship Finals in November. After that, it’s then the 2026 World Darts Championship. Judging by the latest darts power rankings, van Veen is hitting form at the perfect time.

Having climbed to #7 in the PDC Order of Merit and #3 in the FDI darts power rankings, rest assured van Veen will be amongst the favourites for success in all upcoming events he participates in.

As well as climbing both the official PDC rankings and the power rankings, van Veen hit his first televised nine-dart finish back in July at PC23. What a year the Dutchman is having on the oche in 2025!

James Wade, Michael van Gerwen and Danny Noppert Climb Darts Power Rankings

Gian van Veen isn’t the only player who has climbed the FDI darts power rankings following the 2025 European Championship in Dortmund.

Several players put in strong showings in Germany, despite none getting the better of van Veen. Fellow Dutchmen Michael van Gerwen and Danny Noppert are two players who climbed the darts power rankings following the 2025 European Championship.

Three-time world champion van Gerwen hasn’t had his best year by any stretch, but showed signs of regaining his best form with a run to the semi-final in Dortmund. Ultimately he was defeated 11-9 by eventual champion van Veen, but still climbed the power rankings.

Noppert also made the semi-finals before losing out to world number one Luke Humphries, which has seen him climb the latest darts power rankings too. Noppert averaged 101+ in the first and second rounds, proving that he belongs in the top 10 of the PDC Order of Merit.

Veteran James Wade is another player who climbed the FDI darts power rankings. This is mainly down to Wade’s 10-7 victory over pre-tournament favourite Luke Littler, despite losing 10-3 to Humphries in the quarter-finals.

There were runs to the quarter-finals for both Daryl Gurney and Ricardo Pietreczko too, which has consequently boosted their standings in the power rankings as well. Gurney beat Gerwyn Price and Ross Smith before losing 10-7 to ‘MVG’ in the last eight.

Pietreczko defeated the in-form Josh Rock and Jermaine Wattimena in his opening two matches before losing out to Noppert in the quarter-finals. Thus, the German has also climbed the latest FDI darts power rankings.

Other players such as Chris Dobey, Wessel Nijman, Daryl Gurney and Michael Smith also saw an increase in their respective FDI ratings.

Josh Rock, Stephen Bunting and Rob Cross Fall In Latest Darts Power Rankings

Stephen Bunting might be the third most followed darts player on Instagram, but he has fallen in the latest FDI darts power rankings following the European Championship.

‘The Bullet’ can feel slightly hard done by given the fact he averaged 109.20, which was the second highest average across the whole European Championship tournament, but exited at the first round stage after losing 6-3 to fellow countryman Chris Dobey.

Northern Irishman Josh Rock is another player who disappointed in Germany, losing 6-3 to Ricardo Pietreczko in Round 1. This defeat consequently saw ‘Rocky’ fall down a few spots in the darts power rankings.

This year has been a really disappointing one for former world champion Rob Cross, which resulted in yet another first round exit at the European Championship. Not to mention the fact he has failed to qualify for the Grand Slam in Wolverhampton due to his poor run of form.

Despite still sitting sixth in the PDC Order of Merit, Jonny Clayton has been inconsistent in 2025 and has fallen down the FDI Darts Orakel Power Rankings rapidly due to this.

Who’s to say that some of the aforementioned players won’t hit form in the coming weeks and climb back up the darts power rankings prior to the World Darts Championship in December?
