Five Players Who Liverpool Could Sell This Summer As Part Of Squad Overhaul

A Sky Sports reporter has named five players that Liverpool could sell this summer as Arne Slot’s side prepare for a potential mass exodus.
Liverpool crashed out of the Champions League on Tuesday night with a penalty shootout defeat to PSG.
It could be the last time that Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold play for the Reds in the competition, with their contracts set to expire in the summer.
However, Arne Slot’s side look destined to lift the Premier League with a 14-point lead at the top.
Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has named five players Liverpool could sell this summer.
Five Players Who Liverpool Could Sell This Summer
Diogo Jota
Portuguese attacker Diogo Jota is the first player that Liverpool could sell during the summer window.
Jota joined from Wolves for £41m in the summer and has scored 64 goals in 173 appearances.
However, he has been plagued by injuries during his time at Anfield and is enduring his toughest season to date.
His recent performances have come under criticism and he hasn’t scored a goal in two months.
Any departure though could depend on the likes of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz could also attract interest this summer.
Harvey Elliott
Harvey Elliott joined Liverpool in 2019 and has made 139 appearances for the Reds.
Despite being an important squad member, he has struggled to become a regular in the starting XI.
His best form this year came in the Champions League where he scored three goals, but he is yet to find the back of the net in the Premier League this term.
However, the attacking midfielder is still only 21-years-old and has room to grow.
There would likely be plenty of interest if Liverpool are willing to sell him this summer.
Wataru Endo
Wataru Endo has become a cult hero at Liverpool since he joined in the summer of 2023.
The Japanese international rarely starts and has become a player to bring on when Liverpool are defending a lead.
However, his relentless energy and enthusiasm has made him a favourite at Liverpool – particularly with manager Arne Slot.
The 32-year-old though could get regular football elsewhere in the Premier League and is a player that the Reds could look to move on.

Caoimhin Kelleher
The most likely player Liverpool could sell this summer is goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.
Kelleher has been arguably the best back-up goalkeeper in the Premier League behind Alisson.
He famously scored the decisive penalty in the 2022 Carabao Cup final against Chelsea and also helped the Reds win the competition last season.
However, it is no secret that he wants to move on to secure regular first-team football.
The impending arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili confirms is another sign that Kelleher will leave. It now just depends on whether a club can meet Liverpool’s asking price.
Federico Chiesa
It is safe to say that Federico Chiesa’s move to Liverpool has not worked for either party.
Chiesa’s fitness has always been an issue since his arrival from Juventus last summer.
He has made just three Premier League appearances – which would not even be enough to be given a medal should the Reds lift the trophy as expected.
His only goal came in a 4-0 FA Cup victory over Accrington Stanley back in January.
It is likely Chiesa will be either sold or sent out on loan during the summer transfer window.
