The FPL Banger boys are back with their Fantasy Premier League tips for Double Gameweek 24, outlining their top picks and a best captain selection. Welcome to a new series for the 2024/25 season, provided by Siva & Sam, the twisted minds behind the FPL Banger Podcast. We cleaned up last week with double Arsenal defence and Cody Gakpo. And just when we thought DGW24 was a little boring, FPL Towers have blessed us with another DGW. At least 2 teams, and a possible maximum of 4 teams will have a double in Gameweek 25. Let’s get into it. FPL Banger Double Gameweek 24 Tips DGW24 & DGW25 Explained In short, if Liverpool WIN their Carabao Cup Semi Final v Spurs (Spurs lead 1-0 from the 1st leg), Liverpool WILL double in GW25 against Wolves (H) and Aston Villa (A), and Villa will double against Ipswich (H) and Liverpool (H). If Spurs WIN the Semi Final, they WILL double in 25 against Manchester United (H) and Fulham (A), and Fulham will double against Nottingham Forest (H) and Spurs (H). If Arsenal WIN their Semi Final (trailing 2-0 to Newcastle), Arsenal WILL double against Leicester (A) and Chelsea (H) and Chelsea will double against Brighton (A) and Arsenal (A). Chips I’m playing the Assistant Manager Chip in DGW24. This chip is the most powerful chip in the game. You can captain Salah in in both DGW24 and DGW25 (if Liverpool beat Spurs) and still get extra points from playing your Assistant Manager chip: six extra points for a win, three for a clean sheet and a point for every goal scored by your manager’s team. Which Assistant Manager? It has to be David Moyes or Arne Slot. Before the announcement of DGW25, I was leaning towards Moyes. But Liverpool having back-to-back doubles tilts things in favour of Arne Slot for me. You will miss out on the Table Bonus (10 extra points if your manager beats a team five places higher in the table, which doesn’t apply to league leaders Liverpool), but Slot over four games *should* return at least 30 points, and could do even better than that if Liverpool obliterate Wolves, which I think is quite likely. Now let’s get back to our regularly scheduled programming. BEST CAPTAIN Mohamed Salah (£13.7m) – Fixture: Bournemouth (A) and Everton (A) This isn’t even a question. I owned Gakpo for his 16 pointer last week, and I’m still captaining Mo. Penalties and a guarantee of 180 minutes means Salah is way out in front, especially after a complete rest in midweek. TOP PICKS Jordan Pickford (£5.1m) & Vitalii Mykolenko (£4.4m) – Fixture: Leicester (H) and Liverpool (H) Let’s be clear, I fully expect Liverpool to win at Goodison Park. Sure, it might be Everton’s last derby game there, but it’s also Liverpool’s last game at that venue – they would love to send Everton off with a humbling defeat. But you’re owning Pickford and Mykolenko for the Leicester game, plus whatever you can get from the second game. Leicester scored two goals in GW23 from just three shots on target, in a win that definitely had more to do with Spurs being Spurs. Before last week, the Foxes had lost seven in a row. If I had to bet on a clean this week, it would be Moyes at home against Leicester. Morgan Rogers (£5.6m) – Fixture: Wolves (A) Nope, I don’t want any midfielder with a double this week who isn’t named Mo Salah. But I do want a midfielder who just scored a hat-trick in midweek, playing against a Wolves side who have lost four in a row, conceding 10 goals in the process. I don’t own Rogers currently and I don’t mind telling you that I will be hiding behind several couches this week. Cody Gakpo (£7.6m) – Fixture: Bournemouth (A) and Everton (A) At the risk of repeating myself from last week, is Cody Gakpo nailed? Nope. Is Cody Gakpo guaranteed to start both games in Double Gameweek 24 ? Nope. Is he a safe pick in FPL? Nope. But if you can look past all of that, you have a forward playing for the best team in the league with 10 starts in a row and 9 goal contributions in that time, who is about to play Bournemouth, Everton and a possible 2nd double against Wolves and Villa.
