Jake Paul has confirmed WBC lightweight world champion Caroline Dubois will fight on the undercard of his showdown with Anthony Joshua in Miami.
Dubois has also joined Chantelle Cameron by signing with Paul’s promotional company, MVP, which will be seen as a major scalp for the YouTuber-turned-boxer.
Dubois will defend her title against Italy’s Camila Panatta on December 19, live on Netflix.
The announcement has also eased fears that Paul’s anticipated fight with Joshua will go ahead after the American’s cryptic social media post.
Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua show will go on
Paul’s social media post in the early hours of Tuesday read: “9AM EST Tuesday. Major update. Had to be done. It is what it is.”
Fans can be mistaken for believing the fight could have been called off, after Paul’s fight with his initial opponent, Gervonta Davis, was scrapped 10 days before their scheduled bout on November 14.
Dubois, who is the sister of former heavyweight champ Daniel, steps into the ring for the first time since retaining her title against Bo Mi Re Shin in March.
She defeated Maira Moneo to claim the WBC Interim lightweight title last year.
After relinquishing the title, Dubois was elevated to become the WBC lightweight world champion in December 2024.
She said: “Signing with MVP is the next step in my career, I’m proud to be under their roster, and I believe they will be able to help me on my quest for greatness.
“The mission must be to become the face of women’s boxing.”
Opponent Panatta was defeated by Emma Gongora 12 months ago, but responded by beating Marisol Corona in August.
Dubois joins a list of big names on the boxing undercard, which includes Anderson Silva and super featherweight champion Alycia Baumgardner.
All I want is a fair fight. Even the odds. Joshua brought in Usyk. So only right I bring in Dubois. Had to be done. pic.twitter.com/cajQ8GlItE
