Jake Paul has fuelled rumours that his big-money fight with Anthony Joshua is off after posting a cryptic announcement message online.
Paul and the former two-time heavyweight world champion are due to step into the ring on December 19 in Miami, Florida.
The fight, which is live on Netflix, is set to rake in around $140million in total, although Joshua claims it’s not his biggest payday.
Now it appears as though the fight has been thrown into doubt.
Is Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua off?
Paul posted the message online: “9AM EST Tuesday. Major update. Had to be done. It is what it is.”
Boxing fans have drawn conclusions that the 2pm local time announcement is likely to suggest the fight will be postponed.
The controversial fight has already attracted major criticism, with fears over Paul’s welfare in the ring.
The Youtuber-turned-boxer is making a significant step up in quality to take on AJ, having previously fought a 58-year-old Mike Tyson and a handful of UFC fighters.
Current unified heavyweight champ Oleksandr Usyk, suggested Paul’s life could be on the line if his former opponent Joshua holds no mercy.
Paul recently took to Instagram to show off a black eye that Lawrence Okolie inflicted during a sparring session.
The impending news has also come on the back of Joshua’s interview with TMZ in which he set the record straight that he would not be holding back in the ring.
He said: “I understand their concerns, but this is the thing with Jake, they have got to start believing in him. They don’t believe it because they’re saying, ‘how is he beating these guys?’
“I think they [the fans] can’t get their heads around how he has beaten Anderson Silva, how did he beat Nate Diaz? How did he beat Mike Tyson?
“I am telling you, there is no stipulation in the contract where I have to take it easy on him.”

Jake Paul has previous history
Paul was initially set to fight Gervonta Davis on November 14 before the fight with Joshua was confirmed as the replacement.
Coincidentally, it was also exactly 10 days before when the announcement was made that the fight would be cancelled.
Paul said it was due to Davis facing a civil lawsuit at the time.
However, the 31-year-old broke his silence for the first time on Monday on social media, and the now-deleted post read: “He (Paul) was getting his a** beat in camp.
“I was gonna do him bad… But everything happens for a reason that’s why I didn’t trip.”
