Fulham head up to Tyneside to take on Newcastle in the Premier League on Saturday, and we’ve got the latest team news and predicted lineups included within our match preview ahead of the action.
Newcastle vs Fulham Preview
Looking to build on a comfortable 3-1 win over bottom-of-the-table Southampton last time out, Newcastle welcome Fulham to St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Eddie Howe’s side trailed after 10 minutes away at St. Mary’s in Gameweek 23, but a quickfire double courtesy of the in-form Alexander Isak put the Magpies firmly in control on the 30-minute mark. The Tyneside club sealed all three points in the second period, with Sandro Tonali adding his side’s third shortly after returning from the half-time interval.
The result provided a bounce-back response after their shock 4-1 home defeat to Bournemouth the weekend prior, and they have now won 10 of their last 11 matches across all competitions.
It’s a run of form that sees them firmly in the Champions League conversation up in fifth place, level on points with Manchester City, three points behind Nottingham Forest and six points behind second place Arsenal.

Fulham, meanwhile, are eight points behind their Gameweek 24 counterparts in 10th place, missing out on an opportunity to rise up the rankings after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United last Sunday.
That result means that the Cottagers have won just one of their last five league matches – a 2-0 win over Leicester in Gameweek 22 – however, they have held both Liverpool and Arsenal to stalemates since the start of December.
The reverse fixture, played back in September, ended 3-1 in favour of Marco Silva’s side at Craven Cottage, with Raul Jimenez, Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson contributing with a goal apiece. Prior to that meeting though, Newcastle claimed six successive victories in the fixture between May 2021 and April 2024.
Newcastle Team News
First-choice goalkeeper Nick Pope made his return to the first-team squad against Southampton last week, and should now make his return to the starting lineup, replacing Martin Dubravka.
This means that the Magpies are without just three players for Fulham’s visit on Saturday, with Jamaal Lascelles (knee), Harvey Barnes (thigh) and Callum Wilson (thigh) set to miss out due to their respective injury concerns.
Fulham Team News
The visitors, meanwhile, were dealt a major blow in the defeat to Manchester United, as in-form Wales international Harry Wilson was forced off with what looked to be a foot injury.
It has since been confirmed that the 27-year-old has suffered a stress fracture in his fifth metatarsal, and that it’ll likely take eight to 10 weeks for him to recover after undergoing surgery.
Also ruled out is Dutch right-back Kenny Tete (knee), while Arsenal loanee Nelson (thigh) is a major doubt and is being assessed ahead of the fixture.

Newcastle vs Fulham Prediction
Based on the fact that the Magpies have won 10 of their last 11 matches across all competitions, we at SportsCasting can only see Saturday’s clash on Tyneside ending in one way, and that’s in favour of the hosts.
Their defeat to Bournemouth a couple of weeks back was a major blip, of course, but they have since bounced back in style, brushing aside relegation strugglers Southampton last weekend.
We expect that they’ll build on that result with another victory in this one.
The UK’s best football betting sites, like us, favour Newcastle to prevail at around 4/6, while a win for Fulham is priced at around 4/1 and a draw is valued at around 3/1.
Prediction: Newcastle 2-0 Fulham
