The PDC Premier League returns for Night Four at the Westpoint Arena in Exeter and you can find a preview down below.
PDC Premier League Night Four Preview
The PDC Premier League will take its fourth showing to Exeter, as the likes of Luke Littler, Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price take to the stage at the Westpoint Arena.
Littler was stunned by Price in the opening match of night three, as the Welshman picked up a 6-4 victory and sent the current title holder out.
The Iceman would then go to beat Luke Humphries and Nathan Aspinall to claim his first Premier League triumph of the campaign.
Looking across the roster, Stephen Bunting is yet to win a single match on his return to the competition and faces a huge task against Luke Littler on Thursday evening.
Chris Dobey will be hoping to get some momentum going in his Premier League campaign as he faces Nathan Aspinall in the final.
The Asp ended his poor run of form during night three, beating Rob Cross and Michael van Gerwen to reach the final where he lost to Price.
Both Rob Cross and MVG are searching for their first nightly win of the campaign and the two face off in the opening match in Exeter.
PDC Premier League Night Four Prediction
Michael van Gerwen vs Rob Cross
The Dutch darts star made a strong start to his Premier League campaign, beating Luke Littler in the opening match of night on and averaging 105.91 in the process.
However, despite winning the opening match of each night so far, MVG has been eliminated in the following round on each occasion – losing to Humphries in week one, Littler in week two and Aspinall in week three.
As for Rob Cross, his only win of the competition came in the opening match of night one after beating Stephen Bunting before losing to Chris Dobey in the semi’s.
Since then he has lost in the first match of both night two and night three, letting a 5-1 lead over Littler slip and most recently losing to Nathan Aspinall with a 90.42 average.
Prediction: Michael van Gerwen 6-2 Rob Cross
Gerwyn Price vs Luke Humphries
Gerwyn Price was back to his sparkling best during night three of the Premier League, beating the current holder Luke Littler, the world No.1, Luke Humphries and Nathan Aspinall who was on fire in Dublin.
Price averaged 102.64 against the Nuke while hitting five 180’s, 96.26 against Humphires while checking out a ‘Big Fish’ (170) and won the final against Aspinall with an average of 100.57.
Luke Humphries has not lived up to his night one performance in the weeks that have past, despite averaging 106.07 in his week three victory over Chris Dobey.
However, the world No.1 currently sits top of the table after winning the opening night and reaching the final of night two, before a poor display in the semi finals of week three.
Prediction: Gerwyn Price 4-6 Luke Humphries
Chris Dobey vs Nathan Aspinall
Nathan Aspinall failed to win a single match in the opening two nights of the Premier League, losing 6-2 to Humphries on night one and 6-4 to Price during night two.
However, the Asp showed signs of his peak performance in Dublin most recently, picking up his highest average of the campaign so far during the semi-final win over MVG (99.22).
Aspinall has been very vocal about his ongoing battle with ‘dartitis’ but appeared to have put it to one side after his performances on night three.
As for Chris Dobey, his performance in night one has been the only highlight so far, reaching the final after beating Price and Cross.
Since then, the Geordie darts player has lost in the opening match each time, losing 6-4 to Humphries on night two and 6-4 to MVG on night three.
Prediction: Chris Dobey 5-6 Nathan Aspinall
Stephen Bunting vs Luke Littler
The Nuke looked out-of-sorts during his 6-4 defeat to Gerwyn Price on night three, as the teenager recorded one of his lowest averages in recent times with 99.78.
Dropping below 100 is not the norm for the current Premier League title holder and he will be looking to show the levels from night two where he averaged a minimum of 101 to win the night.
As previously mentioned, Stephen Bunting has failed to win a single match in the Premier League so far and has been eliminated from the opening round on each occasion.
A lot was expected from the Bullet after he was selected to return to the tournament for the first time in 10 years, however, he has only broke a 100 average once.
Prediction: Stephen Bunting 3-6 Luke Littler
