Premier League Boxing Day

The new English football season is only three games in but already the Premier League betting odds market has been very active after some high- profile results and key summer transfers impacting the bookie’s views.

With a perfect start (three wins), it’s no shock the layers are taking no chances on Liverpool – making them the clear favourites in the 2025/26 Premier League betting odds market. Now at into 6/5 after beating Arsenal 1-0 last weekend and also securing the signing of Alexander Isak.

In the betting, Liverpool are just ahead of Arsenal (15/8), who they beat last weekend – while after a poor start (two defeats from opening three games) Man City have drifted out to 7/1 (from 5/2).

The betting suggests Chelsea, who are undefeated in their first three league games, are the only other team with a chance of winning the title at 8/1.

Based on Manchester United and Tottenham being next best at a much bigger 40/1 with the football betting sites.

Champions Liverpool are the most likely team to win the 2025/26 Premier League title, according to the betting odds.

Having been joint favourites with Arsenal at 7/4 ahead of their big clash on ‘week 3’ – The Reds are now into clear 6/5 favourites after winning 1-0.

While, with Liverpool making Alexander Isak the most expensive deadline day transfer in history, this has also helped shorten their Premier League outright betting odds.

The Isak transfer saga has been the big talking summer talking point, but the Merseyside club finally got the ex-Newcastle striker on the final day – paying a record £130m for the Swedish hitman.

Liverpool have started the season by beating Bournemouth, Newcastle and Arsenal and will head into the International break top of the table with a maximum nine points.

The Reds have 20 English top-flight league titles – tied with Manchester United – but have only won two in the Premier League era.

Liverpool’s next league game is away at Burnley on Sunday 14th September.

Arsenal Drift Slightly After Liverpool Defeat

Eberechi Eze Arsenal Transfer

Despite losing 1-0 to main title rivals Liverpool on ‘week 3’, the Premier League outright betting odds for Arsenal have only drifted out a tad.

Before that loss, the Gunners were a best-priced 7/4 joint jollies with Liverpool – but only drifted out a tad to 15/8.

From their opening three games Arsenal have still won two (one defeat) and in this trio of games have only leaked one goal.

Which is probably why the layers are still taking no chances on the North London club winning the title.

As well as signing Viktor Gyokeres for £64m, Arsenal also snapped up former Palace man Eberechi Eze for £67.5m.

Arsenal have won 13 English top-flight titles – including three in the Premier League era (1998, 2002 and 2004).

Next up for the Gunners in the league is a home game against Nottingham Forest on Saturday 13th September.

Man City Premier League Betting Odds Out To 7/1 After Poor Start

Man City Lost Millions in Prize Money at Club World Cup

Eight-time Premier League winners, Manchester City started the new season as the close third favourites in the outright betting odds market at 5/2.

However, despite still being the third best in the betting, are now out to 7/1 after losing two of their opening three games.

City have lost to Tottenham and Brighton in recent weeks – despite winning on the opening day of the season (4-0) against Wolves.

After the International break, things don’t get any easier for City – as they face bitter rivals Manchester United at home on September 14th.

According to the bookies, only four teams really have a chance of winning the 2025/26 Premier League title – Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea.

Away from this quartet, it’s 40/1 for the next best sides – Spurs and Man Utd.

Chelsea could be the value though at 8/1 still – as the Blues are one of only two sides that are unbeaten in the league.

Plus, are a young side that have already won something this season – after landing the Club World Cup in the summer.

They’ve beaten both Fulham and West Ham, plus drawn with Palace – so head into week 4 with a decent seven points.

This puts them only two adrift of leaders Liverpool and next up for the Blues is an away trip across town to face Brentford on Saturday 13th September.

Chelsea have won the English top-flight six times – with five of these coming since the Premier League started in 1992-93.
