Adidas has unveiled Real Madrid’s third kit for the 2025/26 season, going for a retro cool aesthetic.
Not everyone is a fan of this jersey, however, with many likening it to Chelsea’s home shirt.
The Real Madrid third kit is predominantly blue with white accents, reminiscent of Los Blancos’ away kit from the 2013/14 season. It has a unique fabric pattern, which is inspired by the seats at their home stadium, the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid would have hoped for an instant hit with their 2025/26 third kit. But so far, the reception has been mixed at best. On X (formerly Twitter), fans are pointing out the shirt’s likeness to Chelsea’s iconic blue.

Real Madrid did not include Kylian Mbappe in the main promo shoot. With him changing to No. 10 from this season, the Frenchman is set to break records. Los Blancos could have given their third kit sales a potential boost by making Mbappe pose in his new No. 10 shirt.
Real Madrid Third Kit Carries Iconic Juanito Saying
The ‘X-factor’ of Real Madrid’s third kit is a detail sewn into the fabric. Real Madrid legend Juanito’s iconic quote, “90 minuti en el Bernabeu son molto longo (90 minutes at the Bernabeu are very long)” features on the inside of the shirt and the jock tag.
Juanito uttered those words after Real Madrid lost 2-0 to Inter Milan in the 1985 UEFA Cup semifinal first leg at San Siro. Los Merengues proved him right and claimed a 3-0 win at the Santiago Bernabeu. The quote has since become a part of Real Madrid folklore.

Real Madrid are 11/10 to win LaLiga with football betting sites and begin their LaLiga campaign with a clash against CA Osasuna on August 19. Their primary title rivals, Barcelona, meanwhile, play their season opener away at Mallorca on August 16.
