Saturday Transfer Rumours Roundup

Manchester United Keen On Everton’s James Garner

The Daily Mail report that Manchester United are considering a move for James Garner.

Garner came through the ranks at United as a youngster, spending time out on loan at Watford and Nottingham Forest before departing permanently for Everton back in 2022.

He is now being linked with a surprise return to Old Trafford, with the Red Devils in the market for a new midfielder in January ahead of a complete overhaul in the summer.

It comes amid question marks over the long-term futures of Casemiro, Toby Collyer, Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte, who have all been linked with moves away.

The 24-year-old’s contract at the Hill Dickinson Stadium expires at the end of the season, therefore he could be available for a relatively low fee during the January transfer window.

As revealed in Tuesday’s transfer roundup earlier this week, United are also interested in Premier League quartet Alex Scott, Adam Wharton, Carlos Baleba and Elliot Anderson.

Juventus Targeting Newcastle Star Sandro Tonali

Serie A giants Juventus are interested in Newcastle star Sandro Tonali.

That’s according to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Bianconeri are looking to sign a midfielder, a goalkeeper and a winger this winter.

Tonali is dubbed a ‘top target’ for Luciano Spalletti’s side.

The 25-year-old, who joined the Magpies from AC Milan for a reported €70m in 2023, has two-and-a-half years remaining on his current contract at St. James’ Park.

It is claimed that Tonali is ‘open’ to a return to his native Italy.

Rumours linking the midfield general with a move away come amid a poor spell of form for the Tyneside club, as they have now won just one of their last five in all competitions.

As a result, pressure is mounting on Eddie Howe. His position in the Premier League sack race odds is rising, while Andoni Iraola is favoured in the latest next Newcastle manager odds.

Liverpool Weighing Up Trey Nyoni Loan

Liverpool are yet to decide if they will allow Trey Nyoni to leave on loan in January.

The 18-year-old has starred for the Reds’ youth sides this term and has featured for the first team on three separate occasions in the Premier League and the Carabao Cup.

TEAMtalk report that several Premier League and Championship clubs are interested in signing him, with Liverpool keen on the midfielder gaining more game time over the coming months.

Anfield chiefs will not rush into sanctioning an exit, however, as they want to find the ‘perfect’ move for Nyoni following unsuccessful loans for other academy stars, such as Stefan Bajcetic.

Fulham and Crystal Palace Keeping Tabs on Oscar Bobb

Premier League duo Fulham and Crystal Palace are keeping tabs on Oscar Bobb.

According to talkSPORT, Bobb could depart the Etihad Stadium in January should Manchester City complete the signing of in-demand Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo.

They are now the 1/2 favourites in the Antoine Semenyo next club odds market.

City are open to allowing Bobb to leave on loan or permanently, with Fulham and Palace set to face competition for his signature from foreign clubs, including LaLiga side Sevilla.

Robert Lewandowski Yet To Make Decision on Future

Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski is yet to make a decision regarding his future.

The 37-year-old will enter the final six months of his contract with La Blaugrana in January, with previous reports linking him with MLS side Chicago Fire and clubs in the Saudi Pro League.

He said: “I still have time to make a decision. Right now, I don’t know where I want to play.

“There’s no need to think about it yet. I don’t know which direction to take, but I don’t have any pressure. I am not talking to the coach about interested clubs.

“It’s not about cutting my salary in half. A lot depends on the club’s plan and what I want.”
