Cameron Menzies vs Rob Cross (7.15pm) 🎯

The first Last 16 match on Wednesday evening sees former world champion Rob Cross take on Scottish dartist Cameron Menzies.

Cross overcame Dutchman Wessel Nijman in Round 1, with many pundits actually tipping ‘Voltage’ to lose that match. Although he didn’t produce his best darts, he got the job done to seal a spot in the second round.

Menzies on the other hand defeated Chris Dobey 2-0, despite being the underdog with UK betting sites. This is a tough one to call, with both players extremely good on their day. However, both have an underwhelming performance in their locker too.

Cross is understandably the favourite here, and we think he will become the first player to book his place in the World Grand Prix quarter-finals with victory over the Scotsman.

Take the Englishman -1.5 sets, meaning your bet will be a winner if he wins 3-1 or 3-0. At a price of 6/5, this method of victory appeals for the Hastings-born tungsten star.

The former world champion has threatened the nine-darts finish on numerous occasions on TV before, so could tonight be the night for that as well?

Stephen Bunting vs Danny Noppert (8.00pm) 🎯

Stephen Bunting is one of the most in-form darts platers in the world right now. After seeing off Niko Springer in Round 1, ‘The Bullet’ faces Dutchman Danny Noppert in the second round.

Noppert overcame fellow Dutchman Jermaine Wattimena 2-1 in his opening game, but could struggle here against the world number four if he doesn’t bring his A-game.

Bunting joined the elite list of Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen after his historic Swiss Darts Trophy triumph last month, and looks poised to follow that up with a major victory before the end of the year.

That could well come at the World Grand Prix, with Bunting one of the pre-tournament favourites.

We feel he will win this match against Noppert as well as registering the most 180s, which is priced at 7/5 for the match double.

Luke Humphries vs Krzysztof Ratajski (8.45pm) 🎯

Next up is world number one and former World Grand Prix champion Luke Humphries. He takes on Polish star Krzysztof Ratajski which could be a tough battle if he’s not at his best.

Ratajski is a tough nut to crack when he’s playing well, but Humphries is a class above. The Englishman is the better all-round player, as well as being the bigger scorer and better finisher.

‘Coolhand’ swept aside Nathan Aspinall in Round 1 on Monday night, with ‘The Polish Eagle’ defeating Martin Schindler 2-0.

With Humphries the overriding favourite to win this encounter, taking him to secure the match treble could be the best play.

Backing the former world champion to win the match, hit the most 180s and secure the biggest checkout is priced at odds of 11/8. This certainly appeals given how stellar a player the Englishman is.

Humphries is a fan of the 170-checkout too, so hitting that would guarantee the highest checkout of the night as well.

Joe Cullen vs Gary Anderson (9.30pm) 🎯

Joe Cullen vs Gary Anderson rounds off the action at the Mattioli Arena on Wednesday night after both players impressed in their respective Round 1 ties on Monday.

In what may have been a shock to some, Cullen swept aside James Wade by a 2-0 scoreline in the first round, setting up a mouth-watering tie with ‘The Flying Scotsman’ in Round 2.

Anderson was in perilous form too on Monday, beating fellow darts legend Raymond van Barneveld in a last-leg decider.

This has set up a cracking encounter to round off the action on Wednesday night in a match we can see perhaps going all the way.

Cullen is quite a substantial underdog here, but is more than capable of beating Anderson on his day. With odds of 6/5 for Cullen +1.5 handicap, this is our fourth and final World Grand Prix betting tip for Wednesday’s action.

For this bet to be deemed a winner, Cullen can lose by a scoreline of 3-2 or win the match outright.
