Davante Adams knows a quality wide receiver when he sees one. After all, he’s one of if not the best in the NFL at the position.

So when Adams was watching the Monday Night Football matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he noticed an exceptional wideout who might not get enough credit for his craft. And no, it’s not Mike Evans, Antonio Brown, or Chris Godwin.

Davante Adams is arguably the best WR in the NFL

For as much credit as the Deandre Hopkins’ and Julio Jones’ of the world get as the most dominant wide receivers in the world, Davante Adams deserves just as much if not more. Adams has been a beast for the Green Bay Packers his entire career, and he’s only getting better.

Since he entered the league in 2014, Adams has over 6,000 total receiving yards and 54 touchdowns. He’s recorded over 800 yards in each of the past four seasons, and he has three Pro Bowls to show for it.

The 2020 season is shaping up to be Adams’ best yet. The star wideout has 847 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns through nine games in 2020, and he leads the NFL in receiving yards per game with 105.9. He’s on pace to shatter his career highs in yards and touchdowns this season.

Adams is now widely regarded as a top WR in the league, but he thinks another star pass-catcher deserves more love.

Cooper Kupp is a budding star for the Rams

Cooper Kupp might not get as much attention as Adams among fans and experts, but he’s growing into a star wide receiver in his own right. The Rams’ wideout has steadily improved his game over his four-year NFL career after getting drafted in the third round in 2017.

Kupp had a breakout season in 2019. He caught 94 passes for 1,161 yards and 10 touchdowns. He put up Pro Bowl-caliber numbers for LA last year, but he was snubbed because he doesn’t have a big enough name.

Kupp has kept the momentum rolling into 2020, as he’s recorded 64 catches for 722 yards and two touchdowns for the Rams through 10 games.

On Monday night, Kupp tore up the Tampa Bay defense and led the Rams to a 27-24 victory. The Eastern Washington product snagged 11 of his 13 targets for 145 yards in the win. With the entire football world watching, Kupp submitted his resume to be considered one of the top wideouts in the NFL.

Well, at least Adams thought so.

Davante Adams has high praise for Cooper Kupp

It’s always refreshing when star athletes can put their competitiveness aside and give their colleagues their due respect. That’s exactly what Davante Adams did on Monday night.

Adams was watching the MNF game on his off day with the rest of us, and he thought Cooper Kupp stood out in a game filled with Pro Bowl receivers. Kupp’s precise route running and glue-like hands seemed to impress Adams, and he took to Twitter to share his take on the overlooked slot receiver.

“Cooper Kupp is the most underrated receiver in the league,” Adams wrote in a tweet Monday night.

Strong words from one of the game’s best.
