Most people know Dalip Rana as his wrestling name, The Great Khali. He was associated with WWE from 2006 to 2014, where he quickly became a fan favorite. Not only was Rana a professional wrestler, but he also had experience as a promoter, model, and actor.

The Great Khali’s wrestling career

Rana is from India, and he started his professional wrestling career for All Pro Wrestling and made his first appearance in October 2000. A year later, he signed a contract with World Championship Wrestling and spent eight months there.

In 2006, Rana finally got his big shot and became the first Indian professional wrestler to be signed to a contract by World Wrestling Entertainment. He made his debut on SmackDown! and that’s when the world got to see who The Great Khali was. Rana fought some of the best WWE wrestlers, like The Undertaker and John Cena. In 2007, he won his first World Heavyweight Championship after being the last man standing in a twenty-man battle royal event. He would also become the first Indian World Champion in WWE history.

Rana quickly became a household name in wrestling, and everyone knew who The Great Khali was. In 2017, he made a return to wrestling and made a few appearances in multiple wrestling matches. Before returning to the WWE, he opened a wrestling school in 2015 called Continental Wrestling Entertainment. The school was in Punjab, and in 2016 he won the CWE World Heavyweight Championship.

The Great Khali’s acting career

Rana made a few appearances in some different television shows and movies. His first movie appeared in 2005 in which he played a role in The Longest Yard, which features Adam Sandler. Not only is he a good professional wrestler, but he is a good actor as well. Rana went on to play in multiple movies throughout the years.

In 2010, he starred in a television series called Big Boss. The show was an Indian reality television game show. The show had multiple seasons, and Rana finished as the runner-up of season four. Even though Rana was a big guy, he was very talented and had a pretty good career.
