NASCAR fans are some of the most loyal in all of sports. However, there comes a point in time where loyalty to one team might just need to be overlooked. That’s the case right now for any NASCAR fan who has ever dreamed of working on a Cup Series team and isn’t already a fan of Kevin Harvick.

The hiring process begins with a job interview that starts during the broadcast of the 2021 Daytona 500 and will end with one lucky fan selected to work with the 2014 Cup Series Champion’s team and earn a $50,000 salary in the 2021 season.

Kevin Harvick has had a stellar NASCAR career

Kevin Harvick made his NASCAR debut with the Truck Series back in 1995. Four years later, he joined the Busch Series and, in his first season, earned 16 top-ten finishes, won three times, and received Rookie of the Year honors.

Two years later Harvick had planned on making his Cup Series debut and racing a partial schedule. The shocking death of Dale Earnhardt changed everything. The week after The Intimidator’s untimely passing, Harvick suited up and drove the renumbered No. 29 Chevrolet. Incredibly, three weeks after Earnhardt’s death, Harvick won the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store 500, narrowly edging out Earnhardt’s longtime rival Jeff Gordon.

Harvick’s career trajectory was straight up from there. After years of finishing in the top five in the final point standings, Kevin Harvick finally broke through in 2014. That season he had 20 top-10 finishes, including five victories and performed well at season’s end to capture his first Cup Series title.

Since 2014, Harvick’s had a runner-up, and three third-place finishes. He finished fifth for the 2020 season.

Ambassador for the sport

While Kevin Harvick is one of the best NASCAR Cup Series drivers on the track, he’s also one of the sport’s greatest ambassadors off of it. Harvick has appeared on a variety of programs, including the Late Show with David Letterman as well as Live with Regis and Kelly

In addition to his appearances promoting the sport, Harvick has participated in some intriguing marketing promotions through the years with one of his main sponsors, Busch beer, which is also the official beer of NASCAR. In 2019, he drove a pink millennial-inspired car during the All-Star Race.

Last year at the Daytona 500, Harvick teamed up with Busch to offer fans a chance to win a sports car with a paint scheme like his No. 4 Busch Ford. Fans were required to tweet #Pit4Busch and #Sweepstakes within the timeframe of a Kevin Harvick pit stop.

Kevin Harvick’s Busch car giveaway at the 2020 Daytona 500 was undoubtedly a great prize. This year, Harvick and Busch have outdone themselves as one lucky fan will have the opportunity to join Harvick’s crew for the 2021 season and work as the Busch Crewmaster.

The winning job applicant will receive a $50,000 salary and attend races throughout the season traveling with the Stewart-Haas Racing team and will be responsible for various race team tasks. The live job interview begins during the Daytona 500 as questions will be asked live during the race broadcast and on Busch’s Twitter page.

The new role on Harvick’s team is inspired by The Crew, a new Netflix comedy series starring Kevin James as the crew chief of a fictitious NASCAR team, which debuts on February 15th, a day after Daytona.
