Kyler Murray and Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown are no longer teammates. The latter left the former in Arizona to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs during NFL free agency.

As a result, he is dead to the former!

Brown, who played alongside Murray at Oklahoma in 2017 and 2018, was drafted 24 spots behind the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. The first-round wide receiver played his first three seasons in Baltimore and requested a trade. The Ravens shipped him off to the Cardinals prior to the 2022 season.

Now, after spending the last two seasons catching passes from his college quarterback, Brown chose to sign a one-year deal with the reigning Super Bowl champions. Patrick Mahomes is thrilled.

Murray is not! His reaction to Brown’s departure made it seem as though he and Arizona are no longer going to embrace him on or off of the field. It also included a clip from the movie ‘300.’

While the post on X might look like there is bad blood between them, it is not real. The joke stems from comments made by Tiki Barber earlier this week that has since captivated the NFL world.

Saquon Barkley signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. Barber told him, through his radio show on WFAN, “you’re dead to me.” Barkley immediately responded by calling the Giants legend a “hater.

The “dead to me” quote quickly became a viral meme throughout the NFL. Multiple players wrote off their former teammates after they signed with a different team during the free agency period.

Kyler Murray is the latest athlete to hop on the trend! While he is probably disappointed to see one of his favorite targets and close friend leave, he is not actually going to cut off ties from Brown. There is not any actual beef between them.
