2022 Jacksonville Jaguars Schedule: Full Dates, Times, and TV Info
The Jacksonville Jaguars excel at making headlines during the offseason — and not always for the right reasons (see: Urban Meyer) — but the release of their schedule for the 2022 NFL campaign allows them to shift their focus toward making noise on the field.
With Travon Walker and Devin Lloyd leading a strong draft class that checked in at No. 6 in Sportscasting’s official rankings, Jacksonville has even more talent to play around with as it tries to follow up a 3-14 disaster with a record far closer to .500 and — gasp — a chance at one of the AFC postseason berths.
Of course, any success will hinge on the progression of Trevor Lawrence, who disappointed in his rookie year after coming off the board at No. 1 overall in 2021. The Clemson product only threw for 3,641 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions, but the flashes of brilliance and downfield playmaking ability at least allow optimism to linger for a 22-year-old heading into his second professional season.
Plus, he’ll have a far better supporting cast.
Travis Etienne Jr. should make his delayed debut as a running back and slot receiver after missing his would-be rookie year. Christian Kirk, Zay Jones, and Evan Engram give the Jaguars more playmaking options in the passing game, albeit expensive ones who now need to prove they aren’t overpaid. The incoming rookies and offseason additions such as Foyesade Oluokun should help ensure Jacksonville doesn’t finish as a bottom-five scoring defense yet again.
The talent looks better on paper, but will that translate into the wins this victory-starved fan base craves?
