Everyone is after the $18 million check for winning the FedEx Cup Playoffs, but the winner at Wilmington Country Club will receive a major payday as well. So, what is the purse for the 2022 BMW Championship, and how much money will the winner take home?
The winner of the BMW Championship will bring home $2.7 million
The theme of the FedEx Cup Playoffs every year is cash, cash, and more cash. That’s especially true this season, as the winner of the 2022 FedEx Cup will take home a record $18 million.
The TOUR Championship will feature the most lucrative prize of the year, as it always does, but the second playoff event is no slouch itself. The purse for the 2022 BMW Championship is set at a record $15 million, and the winner will go home with a $2.7 million check.
That’s a massive increase from last year’s event. The purse for the 2021 BMW Championship was set at just $9.5 million, and Patrick Cantlay banked $1.7 million with his win.
The winner this weekend will be glad they waited a year to get their hands on the largest paycheck in BMW Championship history.
