Alex Pereira Next Fight: When Is The Former Two-Division UFC King Back In Action?

Alex Pereira is without a doubt one of the biggest names in the sport of MMA right now. ‘Poatan’ is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters on the UFC roster right now, and it’s hard to disagree with the exception of Islam Makhachev and Jon Jones.

UFC fans last saw Pereira in action at UFC 313 in Las Vegas, where he lost his UFC Light-Heavyweight Title. Pereira faced #1 challenger Magomed Ankalaev, losing a close decision in what was his first defeat at 205-pounds in the UFC.

Alex Pereira’s record currently stands at 12-3 in MMA, with the chance to improve that in his next fight. Nothing has been announced yet, but an immediate rematch with Ankalaev in the summer could be on the cards next.

If a Pereira vs Ankalaev rematch is next for the UFC Light-Heavyweight Title, the best UK betting sites would likely favour Ankalev. This comes as no surprise given the fact he won the first fight at UFC 313.

That being said, ‘Poatan’ has dynamite in his hands and could easily knock Ankalaev out to regain his title. Time will tell what happens next regarding the Alex Pereira next fight. Of all the options out there, a rematch with the new champion Ankalaev makes the most sense for both fighters.

It’s almost impossible to back against Pereira given how dominant he has been of late inside the octagon, even after a defeat last time out. Stay tuned for an official announcement on Alex Pereira’s next fight going forward in the UFC.

Could Alex Pereira’s Next Fight Be Against Jon Jones or Tom Aspinall For The UFC Heavyweight Title?

In regards to Alex Pereira‘s next fight, there have been several rumours that the Brazilian could be tempted by a move to heavyweight now. The 37-year-old could be the first person in UFC history to become world champion in three different weight classes, if he was to move up to heavyweight and win the belt there.

UFC fans believe there is a strong possibility this could happen, with a proposed fight against either Jon Jones or Tom Aspinall. Pereira took to Instagram after his win at UFC 307, posting a photo in which it is clear that he is calling out Aspinall in a roundabout way.

A potential fight for UFC gold at heavyweight entirely depends on how the division plays out in 2025. The winner of Jones vs Aspinall, which will likely occur in the summer, could well defend the belt against the Brazilian at the back end of 2025 or beginning of 2026.

UFC President Dana White has hailed Pereira’s achievements of late, and has relied on him to almost single handedly carry the UFC on occasions in 2024. That being said, White has admitted he thinks a move to heavyweight is a step too far for Pereira as he would be dwarfed by the likes of Jones and Aspinall.

The best UFC betting sites would likely favour both Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall to defeat Pereira just on sheer size, but it wouldn’t be by a long way.

This just goes to show how impressive Pereira has been of late, that he has a legitimate chance of becoming the first ever three-weight UFC champion.
