Liverpool vs Wolves Preview, Prediction, Team News and Confirmed Lineups

Premier League table-toppers Liverpool welcome Wolves to Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday, and we’ve got the latest team news and confirmed lineups for the clash included in our preview.
Liverpool vs Wolves Preview
Having failed to record a victory in each of their last two matches across all competitions, Premier League leaders Liverpool will be looking to bounce back with a win when they face relegation-battlers Wolves on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds were held to a 2-2 draw in Wednesday’s Merseyside derby against Everton, in which Arne Slot and Curtis Jones were shown red cards as chaos ensued at Goodison following the full-time whistle. It followed on from a shock 1-0 defeat to bottom of the Championship Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup fourth round three days prior.
Their most recent win, a 4-0 triumph over struggling Tottenham Hotspur towards the start of the month, ensured their advancement to the Carabao Cup final, meaning that Liverpool are still able to win a treble.
Heading into this one, they sit seven points clear of Arsenal at the summit of the English top-flight table and 10 points ahead of third place Nottingham Forest, while Wolves are down in 17th, just two points clear of the relegation zone.

Vitor Pereira’s side had gone five games without a win in the league between the end of December and the end of January, however they have bounced back in February, winning two from two across all competitions thus far.
This includes a 2-0 win over Champions League last 16 side Aston Villa in Gameweek 24, courtesy of goals from Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Matheus Cunha, as well as a 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup last weekend.
Historically, the West Midlands outfit have a rather poor record against Liverpool, having avoided defeat in just two of their last 14 meetings, with September’s reverse fixture at Molineux ending 2-1 in favour of the Reds.
Liverpool Team News
As previously mentioned, Jones and Slot were red carded in the aftermath of the Merseyside derby, therefore both miss out on Wolves’ visit, with the former being issued a one-match ban, while the latter is suspended for two.
Joe Gomez is also ruled out thanks to a hamstring issue and in-form Cody Gakpo is a doubt due to a knock.
Wolves Team News
The visitors’ absentee list is much more extensive than that of the hosts’. All of Yerson Mosquera (knee), Enso Gonzalez (knee), Sasa Kalajdzic (knee), Leon Chiwome (knee) and Hwang Hee-chan (thigh) are ruled out.
Boubacar Traore (illness) and Jorgen Strand Larsen (thigh) are also concerns and face late fitness tests ahead of the match.

Liverpool vs Wolves Prediction
Unsurprisingly, the UK’s best football betting sites have identified Liverpool as 2/11 favourites to claim victory on Sunday, while a draw is valued at 7/1 and a shock win for Wolves is priced at 11/1.
Like the bookmakers, we at SportsCasting are heavily favouring the Reds and expect them to cruise to a comfortable victory at home despite going winless in each of their last two matches across all competitions.
Mohamed Salah and co. should have no trouble in threatening the visitors’ defence, who have conceded the second-most goals in the division this term, which is why we’re predicting a 3-0 scoreline.
Prediction: Liverpool 3-0 Wolves
