The 2020 Champions League final is between offensive powerhouses Bayern Munich and PSG

After months away from the sport of soccer and a storm of uncertainty surrounding the Champions League, the UCL final is here at last. Bayern Munich out of Germany will face off against France’s Paris Saint-Germain in the highly anticipated matchup.

The final will take place on Sunday, Aug. 23 in Lisbon, Portugal. The start time is 3 p.m. ET.

Bayern Munich has been a dominant offensive force since returning to action after the hiatus. The German champions haven’t lost a game since the restart, and they recently knocked off Lionel Messi and Barcelona, 8-2.

PSG hasn’t been as dominant, but they’ve been a steady force during their Champions League run. The France juggernaut is coming off a 3-0 win against RB Leipzig, but they have their work cut out for them against Bayern.

Bayern Munich and PSG both have star-studded lineups with massive net worths

Bayern Munich and PSG didn’t make it to the Champions League final by accident. Over the past month, they’ve been the two most impressive teams in the world, and it’s only fitting they’ll get to settle it on the field this Sunday.

Robert Lewandowski leads Bayern not just offensively, but financially as well. Lewandowski has a massive $45 million net worth. Manuel Neuer, the Bayern Munich goalkeeper, is right behind the striker with a $40 million net worth. Thomas Mueller, who has been a staple of Bayern’s squad for years, is further back at $12 million.

Whereas Bayern is loaded with veteran talent, PSG is littered with young superstars. Kylian Mbappe, the 21-year-old who introduced himself to the world at the most recent World Cup, already has a net worth of $45 million. Thiago Silva is right with him, also at $45 million.

All these players have healthy bank accounts, but none of them compare to the richest payer on the field Sunday.

Neymar is the richest player in the Champions League final

A $45 million net worth might sounds like a lot, but it pales in comparison to PSG superstar, Neymar. Neymar has a whopping $186 million net worth at the young age of 28.

In 2017, Neymar signed with PSG to the tune of $385 million. It was and still is the richest contract in soccer history. With endorsements and bonuses, it brings his 2020 net worth to $185 million.
