Stephen Curry has become an NBA star playing with the Warriors

In 2009, the Warriors decided to select a point guard from a mid-major school in the first round of the NBA draft. Curry was the ninth overall selection in the 2009 NBA draft out of Davidson. He impressed many people throughout the basketball world during his sophomore and junior years. Going into his rookie season, some NBA scouts did not think Curry would succeed because of his size. But he proved those doubters wrong.

In his first year, he was named to the All-Rookie First Team after averaging 17.5 points, 5.9 assists, and 4.5 rebounds. He quickly displayed his shooting ability when he entered the league, and he transitioned into a high-level shooter throughout his career. Curry made his first All-Star team in 2014, and from then, his career took off. In 2015, Curry helped lead the Warriors to an NBA title, and he was named NBA’s MVP. He was named NBA’s MVP in 2016 for the second consecutive year.

From 2015 to 2019, Curry played in the NBA Finals, and he won three NBA titles during that time. Curry has played a significant role in the Warriors’ success. Not only has he won at the highest level multiple times, but he has also set numerous NBA records. When his career is over, he has the chance to be at the top of the list in 3 point shots made.

Stephen Curry missing the playoffs for the first time in seven years

The 2019-20 season did not go how the Warriors envisioned. After losing to the Toronto Raptors in the 2019 NBA Finals and losing Klay Thompson to injury and Kevin Durant to free agency, the Warriors were without some of their top players. Things didn’t get any better when Curry went down with an injury early in the season. Curry had to get surgery on his left hand, and he missed a significant portion of the season. The Warriors struggled throughout the season, playing without their key players.

Curry did return in March to finish out the season, and the Warriors finished the season with a 15-50 record, which was the worst record in the league. For Curry, it was the first time in seven years that he missed the playoffs. Curry’s playoff streak came to an end, and he will look to start a new one during the 2020-21 season.

Here’s a look at how many times Stephen Curry has missed the playoffs

In his first three seasons in the league, Curry did not make the playoffs with the Warriors. During those three seasons, Curry played for three different head coaches. Curry has been through the tough times and the great times with the Warriors. The Warriors have watched Curry grow from a rookie to an NBA superstar during his 11-year tenure with the team.
