After a short offseason of just a few weeks, the PGA Tour returned on Thursday for the first tournament of the 2022-23 season. That’s right, the PGA Tour is already back with the 2022 Fortinet Championship from Silverado Resort and Spa.

Heading into the final round from Napa, journeyman Justin Lower held the solo lead at 13 under par. Danny Willett and reigning champion Max Homa are right behind at 12 under. It’s not a stacked leaderboard at the season-opening event, but the winner will eventually go home with a fairly sizeable check.

So, what is the purse for the 2022 Fortinet Championship, and how much money will the winner take home?

The winner of the 2022 Fortinet Championship will bank $1.44 million

The Fortinet Championship isn’t exactly the most popular event on the PGA Tour schedule, so it’s not surprising that it doesn’t feature the largest purse. For this season, the Fortinet Championship purse has been set at $8 million.

The eventual winner of the tournament will go home with $1.44 million, which is marginally more than Homa won last year for his triumph at Silverado. The 31-year-old is just one shot off the lead and in a good position to go back-to-back at the Fortinet Championship.
